While many Mirissa hotels are within walking distance of the main beach, the coast road cuts through the town not far from the beach.

The Mirissa accommodation on the beach side of the road does tend to be more expensive, but most have sea views and all are just a few steps from the beach.

Casa Maria Review

Casa Maria guest house is a lovingly restored colonial style villa just metres from the north end of Mirissa Beach. Sheltered away from the street and noise, stepping into Casa Maria feels like entering an oasis.

With a range of room sizes, Casa Maria Mirissa is popular with couples and families alike. A delicious continental breakfast is served as well as tea and coffee by the pool in the afternoon.

We stayed at Casa Maria on our most recent trip to Sri Lanka and did not want to leave! The kids enjoyed playing with the kittens and rabbits who wandered the lawn and we all enjoyed relaxing by the pool in the afternoon whilst having tea and biscuits.

The staff are helpful and will organise transport and offer recommendations for restaurants and activities. Its location makes it one of the best places to stay in Mirissa Beach, Sri Lanka.

Palm Villa Mirissa Review

Palm Villa Hotel Mirissa has absolute ocean frontage at the southern end of Mirissa Beach. Set in a charming colonial style building, rooms are surrounded by deep balconies and you are just minutes from the main beach area.

Rooms at Palm Villa Mirissa are simply decorated with basic amenities. They have double, quadruple and family rooms, some of which have sea views and balconies. Most have air conditioning and mosquito nets but the wifi tends to be patchy.

While many rooms are compact in size, there are not many mid-range hotels in Mirissa with absolute water frontage and the character of this hotel. Note while there is not beach access directly in front, it is a 1 minute easy walk to the main beach area.

The hotel is located at the quieter end of town, not far from Coconut Hill. If you are want to stay near the main beach at Mirissa, Palm Villa Hotel is a good option.

The Palace Mirissa Hotel is a 3 star hotel in Mirissa with an enviable location on the point at the northern end of Mirissa Beach.

Cabanas are comfortable with unique painted ceilings, air conditioning, mini fridge and mosquito nets. There is free parking and free wifi onsite.

While the rooms are a little dated, each room has a private balcony or terrace and some have gorgeous views out to the ocean. The outdoor pool is a welcome addition when the ocean is too rough for swimming.

Monkeys, peacocks and monitor lizards roam the gardens. Rooms are tastefully decorated with four poster beds, mosquito nets and air conditioning. The one and two bedroom bungalows have an extra touch of luxury and are the perfect choice for families.

The Secret Guesthouse is also well known for the onsite spa, Secret Root Spa Mirissa. Offering massage, Ayurvedic treatments and steam baths, guests at the hotel receive a discount for any treatments.

The Secret Guesthouse is a wonderful place to stay in Mirissa. Quiet, comfortable and just 5 minutes from the beach, this may be the best kept secret in Mirissa!

Banana Garden Guest House is at the southern end of Mirissa Beach and one of the best cheap hotels in Mirissa.
