In July we reached the half way point for our 12 month family gap year. To celebrate us making it to the half way point (believe me, there have been times we didn’t think we would!) I asked everyone to come up with their “top 5”.
When I reflect back on the past six months and look through our immense photo gallery, I realise just how many places we have visited and how many unique experiences we have had as a family.
It is easy to forget this when we are managing the day to day logistics of the trip. It has been a huge 6 months.
Our favourite things
Wherever we go, people ask us what has been our favourite thing so far. It is such a difficult question to answer. Is it a country, a place, an experience, a food, the people we meet? What makes something a favourite? For me it is something or somewhere that brings back strong, happy memories.
To boil everything we have experienced down to just 5 favourites was extremely challenging. There have been so many amazing experiences so far.
As you can see Harvey and I got our lists to top 6 before we gave up. Interestingly there are many crossovers between us. I hope you enjoy the photos and perhaps they will provide you with some inspiration for your next holiday!
Harvey’s top 5
Amelie’s top 5
